Looking back and these photos, I’m remembering how much his shoot tested me.

If you can imagine - mixing freezing cold weather, HOT hot yoga studio, and the glass in my camera + lenses - did not make for a great start.
I thought I gave myself enough time to let my camera acclimate to the temperature in the room, but it still wasn’t enough.

My go-to lens, never unthawed for this portion of the day, but it forced me to lean on the one I have been pushing to the side for a while.

Maybe I shouldn’t share a flub like this, but I think adaptability and performance under pressure is a quality you should look for in a photographer. Not every shoot goes to plan, but knowing how to pivot and still deliver is a big part of the job. And we ended up absolutely loving the photos

But yeah I’ll be investing in some sort of temperature controlled bag after this one lol

Honored to have had the chance to photograph last Friday’s BJJ event to honor Ty Snook.

I’ve never been to an athletic event where everyone was so unified. We were all there for one reason. To honor Ty and support his family.
Hopefully this is one of first of many events that serve that purpose.

Wintertime shoots can be tough, but we powered through frozen toes for these. I’d say it was worth it
