Sometimes, closing a chapter doesn’t mean it wasn’t beautiful. It simply means you’ve reached the end of what that chapter was meant to teach you.
I want to start this by saying thank you. Truly, thank you. Thank you for supporting me, for following along, for trusting me with some of the most meaningful moments of your lives, and for allowing me to preserve memories that can never be recreated. It has been an absolute privilege to be your photographer.
With that said, this feels incredibly bittersweet, but the time has finally come for me to let go.
I’ve been trying to force my photography career for a while, continuing to fight for something that, if I’m being completely honest with myself, just doesn’t align with who I am anymore. And that isn’t fair to you. You deserve a photographer who is completely present, who pours their heart and soul into every session, and who feels excited to create with you. For too long now, I’ve found myself dreading the work more than I enjoy it, and I know that’s my sign that it’s time to stop forcing what no longer feels right.
I’ve been in business since November of 2019, and photography has been such a meaningful part of my life for so many years. It has given me friendships, experiences, memories, and opportunities that I will forever be grateful for. Walking away from something I’ve poured so much of myself into is not easy, but I also know that holding onto something simply because I’m afraid to let it go isn’t the same thing as following where I’m meant to be.
I know I’m meant to be doing something. I just don’t know what that something is yet.
And maybe that’s okay.
So, here I am… letting go, stepping into the unknown, and taking the biggest trust fall with the universe. I’m choosing to believe that I don’t have to know exactly what comes next in order to know that something is waiting for me there.
📝 A little note for those who may be wondering:
While I am officially stepping away from photography as a business, I will absolutely honor any existing gift vouchers, and I will continue to offer occasional sessions for family and close friends. I want to make sure that those who have already invested in a session or voucher with me are taken care of, while also giving myself the space to step away from photography professionally.
Thank you for being a part of this chapter. Thank you for trusting me with your stories, your families, your milestones, and your memories. I will carry all of that with me into whatever comes next.
Here’s to closing one chapter with gratitude, and having the courage to trust that the next one will find me when it’s meant to. ✨🫶🏼
