looks like rains have stopped so nature walk on menu l8r...

with week's work schedule, hoping to breakaway for a couple day distant adventure...direction undecided, laregely will be influenced by weather when time comes...here is to hoping for this or next week...depending on work load/schedule....definitely need a getaway from the routine that sucks the life out of us all...smh...

Pix from 13 June 2026 5 mile kayak adventure up The Black River to fish north of the AYSO park. . . 1-10" Catfish Lost while Fiddling Around Getting Ready to Get Him on Board. . . and a Rock Bass. A Blue Heron takes flight from up in tree upon The Happy Frog approaching. . . Male Mallard Enjoys Perching on a Riparian Log. . . On the Way also Enjoyed Several Turkey Vultures circling above and a Green Heron which I saw both on the way up and the way back down the river in the same spot. Perhaps I should have been fishing where he was! haha. . . Fisherman from bank reported catching a couple catfish and freshwater drum. I was hoping to hook into another large FWD in this area but came up tails on that. But at least caught 2 fish (only one counting toward yearly records though) but that's ok. I enjoy talking to the catfish when I catch them, they are (and this one was too) very vocal in their displeasure with losing the wrestling match. . .
