I am excited! (and can use your help)
For years I wanted to assemble a portrait project that highlights careers that in this day and age are often overlooked. Hands on careers that have longevity even as the employment landscape changes. Outsourcing, AI, shrinking profits are affecting us all.
In the next few months I want to celebrate the plumbers, HVAC techs, carpenters, road workers, barbers and many of the unsung heroes in our community. With the generous support of the Greater Hartford Arts Council this project is now underway. In the fall my first ever SOLO project will open at The 224 EcoSpace with the curation and expertise of Dre B. Paintin Sr. I truly can't wait.
Here's where I can use your help. I need to connect with owners of ESTABLISHED local trade businesses. I want to interview them, document their work, create a portrait series that tells their stories and hopefully inspires the next generation to fill their shoes. Looking for a diverse group of subjects that break the mold. So please, DM me with local people that may be a fit for this project!
