The Milky Way at Brushy Lake in Bankhead National Forest, Alabama

The sky was incredibly clear last Friday night. I was able to get one of the best MW images that I have ever captured. I was even able to capture a meteor in one of my frames.

Cahaba River Wildlife Refuge, Alabama

I have been wanting to capture a detailed picture of the Andromeda Galaxy for a long time. This was taken last night. The total exposure time was around 2hrs. I used my new Benro Polaris star tracker to capture this image.

I spent the last two nights doing astrophotography. On Friday night, I conducted an astrophotography workshop with four photographers. Last night, I did some astrophotography way out in the middle of nowhere, far from light polluted cities. The sky was very dark. This really neat, old church was a perfect setting for capturing the Milky Way. It reminds me of the old churches in Cades Cove, TN. The church was lit with a light cube.
