The bear necessities! Had a fun time capturing a shot of these two cubs playing and eating in this Russian Olive tree as we left the town of Gardiner, MT. Momma bear was around, but I wasn't trying to get a close shot of her. She was in behind a neighborhood fence not wanting her photo taken. This was quite the treat to top off a successful Yellowstone trip.

Out of this world! A few shots of our beautiful moon and stars. First shot is the previous super moon we had this Oct. The second shot I got part of the milkyway with a galaxy in the right side of the photo. And the last shot is that of Lemmon comet!

Looking somewhat similar to a Red Tailed hawk, I was able to capture a few shots of a beautiful Ferruginous hawk! I was shocked that it didn't fly off as I approached it, but it later decided that it's photoshoot was over and flew off. Such a beautiful raptor!

Super excited to share this big bobkitty with y'all! When I tell you I was excited to see this cross paths with me, I was literally shaking from excitement as if I saw bigfoot! Still trying to get my camera dialed in so the imaging didn't turn out as sharp as I wanted, but honestly, I'm just happy I got some shots. I had pulled over to talk to my co-worker over the phone and out of the tall grass comes this big bob, just casually walking across the road in front of me as if I wasn't there. I'm not gonna lie, I was not prepared. I had previously stowed my camera nicely away in the back seat, because I had lost my lens cap and didn't want to scratch my lens. I immediately reached in the back and started to quietly fish around for it still checking to see if it had ran away yet. Just when I thought it had ran off I saw it's head pop up from the grass and started to walk my way. Carefully trying to not startle it I slowly hopped out of the truck and began to shoot as many (what I thought were) focused shots as I could! I guess the noise of me shuffling around or my presence out of the truck made the cat nervous so it started to pick up it's pace running from me. Once it got out of my camera range I put my camera down and watched slowly blend in and disappear with it's surroundings. Truly was a blessed experience to witness such a stealthy predator present itself to me. A moment I believe I'll never forget

Slowly getting more and more active with my cameras. The male pronghorn pictured is that of one I stumble across quite often on my way to work. He typicaly hangs out with a bunch of smaller male antelope, but that morning, he was by himself. l've been trying for a while to get a clear shot of him, but every time I get stopped and set up, he dashes off in true antelope fashion. This round I had my camera locked and loaded for when I spotted him again. He was laying down when I came up on him, giving me some time to set up. Once he rose up, it was only a matter of seconds before he dashed off again, but this time, I finally got the shot l've been wanting. The second photo is a Red-Tailed Hawk that was eating some breakfast. I saw it in the tall grass with its catch and waited with my camera ready and focused. My arm started to get all tingly and numb in the position I was in and I went to adjust my arm, and the little bu**er decided it wanted to fly off! Quickly grabbed my camera and was seconds away from missing it completely, but I got a fair but blurry shot in the end.

Caught up with this Red-Tailed Hawk as it searched the fields for dinner. Perched on an old fence post, barely noticed me, too focused on the world beyond. I thought for sure it would take off before I got the shot, but its patience gave me the chance. Grateful it let me stay in its world for just a moment.

"Bad Hair Day"

This pronghorn lives a bit closer to the mountains than the ones near where I’m working, and she hasn’t quite finished shedding her winter coat. Most of the pronghorn north of Columbus, MT are already slick and summer ready. I’m glad she stood still long enough to model for me.

Grand Tetons National Park. An absolute stunning park everywhere you look! 6 mile hike at Two Ocean Lake in the early morning lead us to seeing a massive bull moose. We definitely stayed our distance making sure it didn't feel threatened. Staying at one of the cabins later in the week we stayed right near Lake Jackson. Waters were rough looking during the day but smoothed out around dusk. Later that night I thought I was going to knock out some Astrophotography of the mountains, it proved to be quite difficult being that there was a full moon out the night before. So I was still thrilled to catch a glimpse of the stars. It was around 12am-1am when I captured those and it was so quiet out you could hear a pin drop! It was quite the eerie feeling but I pressed on trying to get a decent shot. I'm still learning my camera and lenses but it was such a great time learning.
