At the end of April, I was so lucky to join an incredible group of humans in Ojai, CA for a photography retreat and lucky enough to be captured by some amazing photographers.

I have a lot to say about The Family Narrative and my time in Ojai, but one of my biggest takeaways was that we need to PLAY (not just photographers - all “grownups”). To be given permission and space to make art, to make mistakes, to PLAY was such a gift. I’ll tell you more about it in my next newsletter, so sign up at the link in bio if you don’t already follow.

The Family Narrative has been inspiring and affirming in the best ways. I’m so grateful. These shots were all taken with a Ricoh camera borrowed from B&H (thank you!) and edited in Lightroom mobile, which is such a great tool for on-the-go editing. Swipe through for before and afters.

My lovely client in one of the new(ish) bookstores in our area. Get yourself a realtor who is awesome to hang out with and knows all the great spots in town.

If you haven’t popped into , you definitely should. Somehow the folks at have covered ALL the bases with a bookstore & coffeeshop next to an amazing plant store that also happens to stock so many treasures and perfect gifts AND they have a pop-up cocktail bar on Wednesday evenings in the summer.

There was A LOT to love about my time at The Family Narrative, but having portraits taken by Cornell Watson with a room of other awesome photographers as hype-women was definitely a highlight.
