The first of many 🌙

Not long ago I undertook a wondrous adventure within the Olympic National Rainforest. It was there that I encountered this marvelous mushroom.

The glory and creativity of the Divine Spirit is overwhelmingly evident in the hallowed hills and forests of the West. It drapes from mighty boughs, etched in the ancient bark of Spruce and Hemlock. It bows and breaths along the banks of little streams, lays in timeless repose on sun-warmed stones. Its roots are deep and its seasons faithful. Its waters are strong and gentle. Its eyes are old and kind. It sings in adoration of the Creator, and I join its song.

The rich auburn color of the Suillus Lakei contrasts pleasantly with the greens and greys of the forest floor.

Shot on my (nearly vintage) Canon T3, with a (definitely vintage) Helios 58mm lens.

The Helios 44M-4 58mm F2 lens is a relic of Soviet Russia. Its manual functions are satisfying in their mechanical simplicity. I have praised this sweet piece of glass before, and I’ll continue to do so. It is choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

A perfectly natural mandala! Beauty in green and gracious purple.

The Crassulaceae (street name Hen and Chicks) is a vivacious succulent which colonized the boulders and rocks scattered around my town.
