Here is something I have seen happen at conference after conference.

A leader walks off the stage after delivering a message that moved people. Real transformation in the room. A message they have spent years building. And the only record of it is a few blurry phone photos taken from the back row.

That moment deserved more. That leader deserved more.

What I know after 20 years in media is this: the moment does not preserve itself. Someone has to be there with intention. With clarity. With a plan for what those images and recordings need to accomplish after everyone goes home.

That is what strategic storytelling means. Not just showing up. Showing up with purpose.

If you are a speaker, author, nonprofit leader, or event host who has ever felt like your media did not reflect the weight of the work you do, you are right to expect more. This is what clarity before cameras looks like in practice.

Legacy is not an accident. It is a decision made before the lens is ever raised.

My email account was compromised, and a phishing message was sent to many of my contacts using BCC. The message says “You are invited” and includes a link that may ask you to verify that you are human.

Please do not click the link, complete the verification, or enter any information. Delete the email immediately.

If you already clicked the link or entered any information, I recommend changing the password associated with that account and enabling two factor authentication as soon as possible.

I sincerely apologize for the confusion and concern this may have caused, and I appreciate everyone who reached out to alert me.

Talent was never the gap. Opportunity was.

Something I have been building for a long time is almost here. Speaking Beyond the Lens is the impact initiative of Speaking From the Lens, creating pathways from creativity to meaningful employment for young adults on the autism spectrum.

So many finish school with real creative gifts and no door into the industry. The problem was never ability. It was access, structure, and a first real chance. So we are building the door.

It begins with a 12-week core program, delivered through an accessible online membership and led by an autistic creator working in media, and it grows toward an inclusive film and media studio where graduates create, contribute, and earn.

We are not open yet. We are building now, and the families and partners who step in early shape what this becomes.

Wellness looks different for every woman, but connection and access to the right resources matter.

Grateful for the opportunity for Grace Covenant’s Military Ministry to connect, share resources, and be part of the Women’s Wellness Workshop. We learned, laughed, connected, and walked away with information we can actually use.
