Wow what a site! The blood worm moon lunar eclipse did not disappoint tonight. Learned a lot of things in the process. My images could be a little more crisp but did the best I could do with what I had. Shot on a Sony a7iii with a 600mm lens. Hays, KS.

Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) from Ellis County, Kansas. 10/12/24.

I knew I wanted to capture this comet with an interesting foreground image and this old milk truck did not disappoint. Neither did the weather or company. First time shooting with my co-worker Isaiah and we had a blast.

The good thing about this comet is it’s here to stay for awhile. It will be visible thru Oct 31st. Last night was when it was closest to the horizon and it will rise a little higher each night. This comet is made up of dust and ice and travels at 80.74 km per second. Quite the come back after last visiting earth 80,000 years ago. Rounding out the shots is an obligatory Big Dipper picture!

I embarked on a thrilling adventure last night, armed with my camera and a quest to capture the breathtaking Aurora Borealis in the unlikeliest of places - Kansas! The Northern Lights did not disappoint, painting the sky with vibrant colors. To add a unique twist to my photos, I chose an old oilfield dog house in the Saline River valley of Ellis County KS as my foreground, creating a striking contrast between the natural wonder and human-made structure. Despite not being my best work, the experience was amazing!
