Lydia & Dane officially survived cake smashing, questionable dance moves, and an entire day of everyone telling them to "look natural." I'd call that a successful wedding. ❤️

These two made my job ridiculously easy with all the laughter, happy tears, and the way they look at each other. It was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I love what I do.

One of the biggest misconceptions about photography is that the camera does all the work. In reality, editing is where a photo truly comes to life.

Editing helps enhance colors, balance lighting, remove distractions, and bring the image closer to what the moment actually felt like. It’s not about changing reality—it’s about telling the story the way it was experienced.

Every image you receive is carefully edited with intention, because every memory deserves that extra attention to detail. 📸✨

When people think about professional photography, they often picture the moment the camera clicks. But the truth is, photography does not end when the session is over. Some of the most important work happens afterward during the editing process.

Hayward photojournalism’s finest.

There are some people who become part of the heart of a community. To me, Terrell “Scoop” Boettcher is one of them.

This morning, while I was photographing some of the Musky Run, I witnessed something I’ll never forget. As one of the runners crossed the finish line, they walked over to Scoop, took off their medal, put it over his hat and simply said, “Thank you for being here. It means so much to all of us.”

I wanted to cry! Growing up in Hayward, Scoop was everywhere. Every game, every community event, every celebration, always with a camera in hand and a genuine smile on his face. For decades, he’s been preserving our memories, telling our stories, and quietly showing up for this community in ways that most people will never fully realize.

He’s never asked for recognition. He’s simply loved this town and the people in it.

Watching someone give him their medal this morning felt like such a fitting reminder that sometimes the people cheering everyone else on deserve to be celebrated too.

Thank you, Scoop, for everything you’ve given to Hayward. You have documented generations of memories, inspired so many of us, and helped shape the story of this community.

Hayward is a better place because of you. ❤️
