Imagery does something for the mind that words often can’t. Pictures open a door to the past, in a good way, that can bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eye. When you think about having pictures taken of your senior or your family, think about how that will make you feel twenty years from now. Suddenly you’re building a life through choices.

Careers. Relationships. Risks. Failures. Pivots. And not being afraid to start over when necessary.

Uncertainty is unavoidable. But that’s also what’s so beautiful about this time of life. Opportunities are endless if you’re willing to be fearless in uncertainty.

Will Rogers was onto to something when he said, “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.”

Hindsight is 20/20 and that’s easy for me to say now, definitely not something I would’ve realized fresh out of senior year.

Being in the thick of high school can be a bit deceiving at times.

But if no one has ever told you yet, there is so much more to come in your life. New relationships. New goals. New adventures. Endless career opportunity paths.

Don’t let singular moments in your life define who you are. There is always another choice. There is always another path. Don’t like something? Do something about it. Don’t be afraid to make a change.

Carry the lessons. Leave the rest.

Brogan and I were talking at his session, trying to figure out how long I’ve been taking pictures of him at brandings and I think we figured out that it’s probably been since he was about 5 or 6 years old.
