V. Sattui Winery

Nicole & Rory’s V. Sattui Winery wedding was one of those beautiful Napa days where every part of the celebration felt worth slowing down for.

They had an elegant ceremony on the lawn, sunset portraits among the vineyards, a choreographed first dance, dinner in the courtyard, and a packed dance floor in the barrel room to finish the night.

One of my favorite moments happened in between all of it: at some point during the reception, I realized I couldn’t find them. They had quietly slipped away for about ten minutes to sit together and take in the celebration from above. I caught them just before they went back to the party and photographed a few quiet moments by the fountain under the string lights.

Mara and Alex at New Tree Ranch in Healdsburg.

Family flew in for the weekend. Slow pace, no real rush to anything.

Ceremony in the Barn Villa gardens, set in a circle under the arbor. Close enough that you hear everything. A lot of quiet crying during vows.

Later, pasture light. Highland cows in and out of frame. Mara was fully into them.

Dinner outside. Private chef. Golden retrievers wandering through like it was normal.

Shot on medium format film and digital. Mostly followed the light.

That place does most of the work.

✨ Rob & Bri’s fall wedding at Vine Hill House in Sebastopol was full of golden vineyards, vibrant fall colors, and unforgettable moments. From heartfelt and funny toasts to their pup joining in on the celebration, every detail felt personal and joyful. And who could forget Bri’s surprise haircut during cocktail hour; moment that left everyone in awe (especially Rob!)? The night ended with dancing under the redwoods and memories that will last a lifetime.

Golden hour gets a lot of credit, but it isn’t the reason photos feel timeless.

Beautiful images come from understanding how light moves through a space: vineyards, trees, architecture, open shade. That’s what allows couples to stay present instead of planning their day around the sun.
