Fresh 48 at home starring my cute squishy nephew & his 🔥 mom - but make it art.

Not even at the 48 hour mark and this sweet babe is stealing hearts left and right.

Spent our time whispering while Erika shared her labor & delivery story and admired little William. I cannot wait to see this chapter unfold. The way consecutive pregnancies evolve a mother, shifts a family, and love multiples will always bring tears to my eyes.

The way this career fills your cup is hard to describe. It’s truly such a labor of love, but I wouldn’t be able to feel the love in return without everyone who welcomes me in. God is so good. 🤍

As a reminder, family, maternity, and newborn sessions don’t need a perfectly clean home - it needs to be lived in - you’re busy making memories. Didn’t shower? I don’t care and neither do the littles who think you’re heaven on earth. The light isn’t perfect? But that’s the spot that feels like home.

Circa 2013 💫

Twas a wild summer. I’ll never forget when someone said it was your birthday only a short 6 days after meeting and falling head over heels.

I asked how old you were and when “19” came out of your mouth and I realized I was 2 years older, I thought for sure you’d get bored of me quick. We were young & wild & oh so well traveled in the first 6 months. We moved to Wyoming before we even could blink to follow you to school.

I never thought on June 5th, 2013 I’d have 13 birthdays to celebrate with you, let alone a lifetime ahead of us. But my god am I blessed.

There’s something about ⭐️ 32⭐️. But every age looks good on you.

Happy birthday to my best friend to ever grace this world with his presence. You’re my favorite person. The best daddy & teacher for our boys. You keep me sane in so many ways. To another trip around the sun & aging like fine wine. I love you.

Ran around with Rebecca, Chris, & Copper this week (please, always bring the dogs) 🥰

It was such a treat for Copper to be a part of the whole session — following along to every moment, golden smile plastered on his face (& mom’s smooches on his cheek) while mom and dad soaked each other in and celebrated their engagement.

We ended the night with champagne in the sunset, which also happened to double as a celebration for Becca’s new job — so there wasn’t a drop left in the bottle. To the soon-to-be Mr & Mrs and Copper’s mom and dad 🥂 September cannot come fast enough.

I’ll never forget Sydney’s message to me when our newborn session date snuck up on us & baby still hadn’t made his arrival yet… much to everyone’s surprise.

“Hi, I know we have our newborn shoot scheduled for this week; but I’m here to share, I do not have said newborn yet 😅”

If you know Sydney, you know she has a way of always bringing a smile (& usually a giggle) while reminding you… life just isn’t that serious. I still laugh about her message while remembering the shared (& very much building) anticipation for his arrival.

Reese arrived a short five days later — healthy, happy, and welcomed by 3 big siblings ready to show him the ropes, along with the calmest-in-the-chaos mom & dad.

We rescheduled for their second day home, hung out in their element, played in the backyard, snuggled all the squishy newborn goodness, and let the afternoon unfold naturally — led by Reese’s siblings of course 🥹

I think about these kinds of memories often because if you know me, you know I love a full story. The long version always.

And that’s exactly why I’m now offering ‘The First Year’ 🤍

A storytelling-focused collection for growing families wanting more than a single session — documenting the transition into parenthood from pregnancy through baby’s first year in a way that feels honest, connected, and true to your family.

For the time being, I’ll only be offering this collection for families in McHenry County, IL as my biggest goal is to continue preserving schedule flexibility during the waiting season with babes.

It’s incredibly important to me that maternity and newborn sessions specifically have the space & time needed so mom, baby, and everyone else included feels comfortable, present, and un-rushed.

These moments happen once, and I want to ensure we’re treating them that way ✨
