Rainbow spaghetti, anyone?

If you’ve been around broadcast integration long enough, you’ve probably opened a rack and found something that looks a lot like this.

This is especially common with systems that have been upgraded in phases over many years. New equipment gets added, old equipment gets removed, and new cabling gets layered on top of old cabling. Before long, you can end up with a rack full of different colors, generations of labels, and cables that don’t actually connect to anything anymore.

Every integrator has standards for cable colors and labeling, including us, and many of our clients have standards of their own. Before we start pulling cable, we’ll ask whether you want us to follow your existing color code or use the TakeOne standard. When we’re upgrading an existing system, we don’t want to just pile new cabling on top of years of old infrastructure.

Wherever the project scope allows, we identify and remove abandoned cabling so you aren’t left with obsolete labels, unused cables, and multiple generations of standards buried in the rack. A good integration shouldn’t just work well when we leave. It should be easier for your team to understand, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade years from now.

If your rack is starting to look like this, it may be time for a little TLC. Give TakeOne a call. We’d be happy to help untangle the spaghetti.

IT'S OFFICIAL — THE SONY FX5 IS HERE.

Full-frame. Internal 16-bit RAW — no external recorder. Three Base ISOs that keep footage clean at ISO 12,800 after the sun goes down. Open Gate 5K so one take works for the big screen AND your vertical cut. Starting at $4,899.99.

A camera this serious deserves the right build around it — and that's where we come in.

Tell us what you're shooting and we'll help you spec the cards, power and audio before you spend a dime. And after it arrives, you've got us: firmware updates, troubleshooting, and a real human on the phone if something goes wrong the night before your shoot.

Film students and indie crews: this camera was built for you, and so is that kind of backup.

Preorders are open now. First cameras ship mid-August.

Email [email protected] and tell us how you shoot and we'll spec your FX5 build together.

Big upgrade for University of Kentucky ahead of the Southeastern Conference NCAA Softball Championship Tournament. The team recently transitioned from RTS ROAMEO to the new RTS NOMAD platform from with support from TakeOne Broadcast Solutions.

The upgrade brings several major improvements to game-day communications And the timing could not have been better. By day two of tournament play, the system had already been exposed to rain conditions which is exactly the type of environment these systems are designed to handle.

Excited to see the system already proving itself in live tournament conditions and proud to have helped support the deployment alongside the UK Athletics and RTS teams.

For more information about RTS NOMAD or to schedule a demo, contact TakeOne Broadcast Solutions or visit RTS at https://rtsintercoms.com/nomad/nomad-wireless-intercom-system/

Everyone’s talking about the “cinema look” right now… especially with NAB right around the corner. However, here’s the part most people skip over… what actually changes when you try to bring that into a real broadcast workflow?

It’s easy to fall in love with the look. It’s a whole different thing to deal with the lenses, the cost, the added complexity, and what it means for your team on a normal show day.

In this video, Patrick and Chad walks through the real-world side of it. Not just what looks better, but what actually works… and where people tend to get tripped up.

If this has been on your radar at all, take a few minutes and watch this before you make any decisions.

Curious where you land on it too… are you all-in on cinema, sticking with traditional broadcast, or trying to find a balance?
