HDR in Real Estate Marketing.
Hi there! Let’s chat about HDR ( High Dynamic Range), a term that’s important in real estate photography and marketing. It’s all about capturing the full range of colors and tones in a photo, just like your eyes see them.
Now, there’s a new twist on HDR. It’s not just about the photos themselves, but also about the screens we use to view them. Display tech has come a long way, and many modern smartphones and tablets can show off HDR images. Laptops like MacBooks and some the better PCs can also display HDR. But desktop monitors are a bit different. The 4K and 5K monitors can handle HDR, but the older ones are stuck with SDR or Standard Dynamic Range. Interestingly, many flat-screen TVs are HDR too. Just check the manufacturer’s specs to be sure.
We believe that HDR images make a big difference in how our clients market and sell their properties. Most people are viewing your listings on their smartphones or tablets, so they can likely see your listing photos in all their HDR glory! But some people are still using SDR screens.
Before we send photos to our clients, we make sure they’re ready to display properly on both HDR and SDR. It’s the best of both worlds. I hope this explanation was helpful! Mark Dolan, markdolanphoto.com
