You guys....I did a thing and blogged for the first time in moooonnnnths. Showing off a very favorite creative branding session from this year with the incredible Kim Wensel of Range Global Goods!

WOW. Has it been a hot minute since I’ve blogged. I’ve hardly even posted “regular” Instagram photos this year. It’s the algorithm, and it’s being overwhelmed with homeschooling 3 kids, and it’s just just just. But, I miss sharing my favorite work. I think I’ve told myself, what’s ...

GIVE AWAY TIME! 👏🏻**To actually enter, go to Instagram post**

My birthday is tomorrow, which also means it’s my business’s birthday this month, and to celebrate 14 YEARS of getting to do this work I love so much, I shall continue my tradition of hosting a giveaway to spread some of that joy back to YOU. 🎉

I love a good theme, colors or otherwise, and when I realized some of the things I’ve most been loving these last few months were nicely color-coordinated I knew it would make for a fun give away combo. SO. Here’s what one of you will win!

- Peace is a Practice (the new book from )

- More Than Gratitude (the best journal by my girl )

- And the ultimate coffee gift box from featuring my favorite tumbler that I use almost daily, now!

To enter:

- Like this post
- Be sure you’re following this account
- Tag at least one friend in the comments (each tag is an extra entry)
- Make sure you’re signed up for my email list (link in bio)
- For BONUS entry: share in stories & tag me so I see it!

And that’s it! Giveaway winner must have domestic shipping address, and this giveaway is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Instagram. Winner will be announced Monday, April 11!

THANK YOU for 14 years of support, trust, returning business, friendships built & so much encouragement. Truly appreciate each of you that take the time to read what I write, look at the work I create, and engage with the things I love to share about. For all the ways this social media space can be a downer, THIS corner of Instagram blesses me greatly. 🧡

It's been a hot minute since I've blogged or posted on here for that matter, but this sunlit Spring bridal session is too good not to share. A favorite Richmond location, a gorgeous bride, and the best light - go check it out and help a girl out as I get back into the groove of sharing my work and showing off my amazing clients.

35. I don’t quite know how it’s possible that I’ve reached this age - am I really mature enough for that number? I suppose all my gray hair, 3 children, 10 years of marriage and 13 years in business might suggest I am - but inwardly I’m pretty sure I’m still faking it. 🙈

Truly, though, I’m so grateful. This past year has been one of the most personally challenging of my life with pregnancy + postpartum in the middle of the strangeness, fear, isolation and grief of the pandemic. I don’t think I’ve ever felt SUCH a vast array of difficult emotions over such an extended period of time. But I have seen at every step God’s grace, peace & sustaining love. Not taking away the difficulty of growth through sadness and overwhelm, but giving me very personal reminders of His promise to be with me IN it. His hand on me in the midst. His tears mingling with my own.

I can honestly say turning a year older is a welcome gift. It’s proof that the last year is over, that I made it through. That Spring always comes after Winter, that the challenges and discomfort of pregnancy & postpartum seasons shift, too. And that adorable, squishy babies bring a lot of joy, even with the added chaos.

I have a lot I hope to learn and grow in throughout this next year, too. Above all, to be more like Jesus in the way I love others, view myself, and process the world around me.

So, here’s to 35 and all the blessings, wisdom & grace of my ever-growing old age. ☺️

THANK you for allowing me into your corner of the internet and sharing so much love and encouragement back to me. Be sure to check out the give-away post right before this as my little gift back to you. 🧡

What is better than perfect Fall neutrals and cozy family moments? 😍

Getting so.pumped. for my first set of mini sessions this weekend! And with that in mind, just wanted to share a few reminders/tips about picking outfits!

👉🏻 First of all, you DO NOT NEED TO MATCH, you want to COORDINATE. Start by picking a 3-4 color “family” to work with. You can start with a patterned item and pull out colors from there, or just pick a handful of color tones that work well together. (Tip: it can be helpful to decide what your grounding neutral will be - blacks/grays? Navy? Browns/khaki?)

👉🏻 Don’t be afraid of pattern & texture mixing! One of the things that make outfit combos look natural even while coordinating is having several textures or a couple patterns mixed together. If having more than one pattern, make sure they’re of different scales (one a smaller print and one a little larger or bolder). If you’re not into patterns consider cable knots, tweeds, corduroy, denim, etc that will bring in some nice cozy textures!

👉🏻 LAYERING makes for a great way to add depth and interest to outfits without making the overall feel too busy. Think a sweater over a button down, a puffer vest for a kid, denim jacket over a dress, etc!

👉🏻 Less is more when accessorizing for photos with multiple people in them, so pick one or two accessories that make a statement (a cute hat, chunky scarf, a noticeable necklace or statement earrings) but then be minimal from there!

I hope these few tips help give you confidence and joy as you piece together your outfits for your Fall photos! (Tag a friend below if you think this would be helpful in minimizing outfit stress for them, as well! 🤗)

“Autumn is a second Spring, when every leaf is a flower.” - Albert Camus

Sipping my coffee on this gray, wet day and enjoying how this year’s Fall mantel turned out. Loved styling my bottles with the fun dried florals - some of which I already had and some from & ’s tag sale. They work together so perfectly!

For the canvas I painted over one I’ve had for years that had some stuff mod-podged onto it so it has some fun texture and the framed floral art was the inside cover page from a book I got at Goodwill for $2.50. Definitely one of the best tips I’ve gotten from .manor is to look at books when thrifting for the frameable art potential! I then found an Autumn quote I liked and made my own print for the smaller frame. Easy, very on-the-cheap and yet a totally unique and fresh mantel-scape.

Have you done any fun DIY artsy or home decor projects lately?
