Hey friends, Iā€™m going to be going to Kenya to the In His Hands school again in about a month. Iā€™ll be traveling there alone and staying just under 6 weeks this time. Iā€™ll be teaching the 33 girls plus 2 year old Elvis about Bible stories using a kit my motherā€™s giving me. Iā€™ve always thought it was so cool! Itā€™s a board covered in felt and it comes with all of these felt cut outs of various people, animals, trees, etc that you use to tell while showing the Bible stories. Iā€™m pretty excited about that. Iā€™m also going to get the girls hands on with them actually making soap. The plan is that they can market the soap later. Iā€™m also down to have some cooking lessons. I think weā€™re going to start a chicken ministry there like the one we already have in Haiti. There are some other ideas being tossed around. Iā€™m trying to have a bit of a plan as well as being completely flexible so as to let the Lord guide us. Right?

Thereā€™s another thing . At the In His Hands Kenya location. The girls pretty much live at the ā€œschoolā€. They donā€™t have an orphan home certificate or anything like that . So itā€™s not called an orphanage. This means that the girls have to leave that facility for a time ā€¦like summer break I guess. Michelle and Bella are planning to take the girls to another location for ā€œcampā€ for a couple of weeks. Bella has asked for me to be the camp director (honored, a bit nervous). Theyā€™ve also been looking for camp counselors/teachers to go for a week or two and help with this project. Jeannie Rupert is going to go. Thereā€™s still room for more if anyoneā€™s interested. Jeannie will be flying to Kenya (alone as of now) on November 10. The two of us will be flying back on November 22. Weā€™re both trying to raise funds for the trip. On Saturday, October 3 I had booked a fundraiser at Wades meats. Jeannie Ruppert, myself and Carla Miller Richardson plan to work this fundraiser. I was under the impression that the men at Wades ran the grill. I recently learned thatā€™s not correct. WE need to do that . The 3 of us women are not familiar with cooking on grills , especially like that. So Iā€™m just throwing this out there in case anyone would WANT to help us. NO pressure at all. I just need to let Wades know in a couple days or so if weā€™re still going to have this fundraiser or not. If we do still have it and anyone would like to come out and be a part of serving or make any baked goods or anything we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for considering. I love you guys and we really appreciate your support even if all you can contribute is prayer. ā˜ŗļøšŸ™ā¤ļøšŸ™Œ
