Rachel & James' wedding at Black Rocks was truly magazine-worthy from start to finish. Between the incredible location, the calm water, and these two, every image feels like a dream.

Some of my favorite family sessions are the ones where the plan lasts about… 2.7 seconds (give or take few) 😂
The littles spot the lake, shoes are suddenly optional, and before anyone can say “Wait!” they’re splashing in the water.
And honestly? Those are usually the moments everyone remembers.
The laughter, the soaked clothes, the endless giggles, and the beautiful chaos of just being together. Family photos don’t have to be perfect. They just have to feel like you.
So if your kids end up in the lake, we’ll laugh, keep shooting, and make memories you’ll smile about for years to come. 💙

Some places live in your heart long before you ever get to photograph them.

Black Rocks in Michigan's Upper Peninsula has been on my photography bucket list for years. I had imagined crashing waves, dramatic skies, and the wild beauty Lake Superior is known for. Instead, the lake gave us something completely different.

She was calm.

The water stretched endlessly, reflecting the sky like glass. It was peaceful, breathtaking, and somehow made the moment feel even more intimate. It was as if Lake Superior knew this day wasn't about making a grand entrance~ it was about quietly witnessing something beautiful.

And then there were Rachel and James.

Their love was the fairytale. The way they looked at each other, the laughter they shared, and the excitement of beginning forever together fit this incredible place perfectly. Every image feels like a page from a storybook.

Dream locations don't always become dream weddings, but this one did.

Rachel and James, thank you for trusting me with one of the biggest days of your lives. Photographing your wedding at Black Rocks was everything I had hoped for and so much more.

🥂Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Gonzalez. May your marriage be as steady as the calm waters of Lake Superior and as breathtaking as the view that surrounded you. 🤍

Another quick note about children and social media.
One of the questions I get asked often is about posting photos of children online. The answer is simple: I post with intention. My first priority has always been creating memories for families, not creating content for social media. The images I deliver belong to the families who trusted me to capture those moments, and that responsibility is something I take seriously.
If you see a child's face featured on my website or social media pages, it is because I have received direct permission from that child's parent or legal guardian to share those images. If permission is not given, those photos stay private. In a world where everything seems to be shared instantly, I believe parents should have the final say in how and where their children's images appear.

With that being said, here are a couple of sweet faces from The Cardinal's Nest that I was given permission to share. ❤️

Thank you to all the families who trust me with your memories. Whether your photos are shared publicly or remain just for your family, they are created with the same care, attention, and respect.

Happy Friday! As of right now all Popsicles in the Park Pictures have been sent. Please make sure to check your emails. I do have one child that has a provided email that keeps coming back as undeliverable. If anyone knows Nicole Winningham ( Jeremiah Winningham) could you please have them call, text or even email? I am currently working on a family session and a beautiful elopement and then on to the kindergarten celebration at Thomson Elementary in Davison.
