We had an exciting and wonderful time last week. We spent three days at Rockaway Beach, for my birthday, with beautiful weather. We had a great time just relaxing, listening and watching the waves and doing nothing! Then we topped it off, on Sunday, with Joyce's Christmas present, to see the Broadway Show of Les Misérables. What a fantastic and awesome production!!!

Today is World Wildlife Day. My contribution, for this special day, is the bald eagle...a large bird of prey and North America's national symbol. These wonderful looking creatures are protected by law. This fine specimen was at the Alaskan Rainforest Sanctuary, in Ketchikan, AK, in rehab recovering from wounds before being release back into the wild.

Today is Veterans Day...a time to reflect on the real heroes of our country. Whether they have served, about to serve or have died because of their bravery for our freedom. Freedom is not free and much is appreciated for all the sacrifices that were made. We don't know who they all are, but we owe them all. From our recent trek to the Oregon Coast, we stopped at Boiler Bay State Scenic Viewpoint (about one mile north of Depoe Bay). This spot is a miraculous and rugged basalt-rimmed bay to watch big surf action...and we did see some wild and impressive waves!
The last capture is about a 30 second video. Good wave action with sound...especially about half way through.

A few more shots, from our 30th anniversary trek to the Oregon Coast, when we stayed at the Heceta Lighthouse B&B. The first two are from our room (with a view). The next two are from inside the lighthouse (there were no tours up the stairs). The last one is the lighthouse at night (with my phone camera).

We (Joyce and I) spent most of last week, on the Oregon Coast, celebrating our 30th anniversary. Two nights were at the Heceta Head Lighthouse B&B, where we were served a 7-course breakfast each morning. We had a wonderful time meeting some new friends from Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Minnesota and Tennessee (we were the only ones from Oregon). We did explore some around the lighthouse and the Florence waterfront.
