Behind every final image is patience, connection, tiny adjustments, and a whole lot of trust.
Jacob spent time riding our sweet pony, getting comfortable, laughing, exploring, and simply being himself while I walked alongside him making sure everything felt safe and natural.

These sessions are never about forcing perfect poses — they’re about creating an experience children actually enjoy. The final portraits are just the beautiful result of those genuine moments 💛

Some bonds don’t need words.
They’re built quietly over years… through trust, healing, routine, and unconditional love.

This sweet soul is 30 years old, and for the last 15 years, Rebecca has loved her through every season of life. These photos weren’t just a session — they were a way to hold onto a connection that time can never replace.

The gray hairs, the soft eyes, the familiar touch… this is what memories look like.

Our animals are never “just horses.”
They become part of our story, our comfort, our home.

And sometimes the most important thing we can do is preserve that love before it becomes a memory. 🤍

You need to be in the photos too 🤍

I see it all the time — people wanting beautiful images of their horse… but hesitating to step in front of the camera themselves.

But the truth is, it’s not just about your horse.
It’s about your connection.

The way they look at you.
The way your kids grow up with them.
The quiet moments you don’t think to document.

Because years from now, these won’t just be “horse photos.”
They’ll be the images that take you right back to this season.

And if you’re a mom… you already know how fast that goes.

This is what you’ll want to look back on 🤍

Jacob 🤍

Jacob and my daughter Olivia came into the world on the very same day — just two hours apart, and they’ve grown up side by side ever since.

He’s the kind of kid you instantly notice… smart, kind, and a little more mature than you’d expect for his age — which makes perfect sense being raised with three older siblings.

What I love most about photographing Jacob is how willing he is. No hesitation, no overthinking — just a quiet confidence and a heart that’s all in. Whether that’s climbing up on Cash for a quick ride or just soaking in the moment, he makes it easy to capture something real.

And for his mama… these aren’t just photos.
They’re the kind of memories you hold onto forever — the ones that remind you exactly who they were in this season.

We’ll be taking Olivia and Jacob’s sixth-year pictures soon, and my mama heart already wants to hold onto these younger moments a little tighter. I’m so grateful we have these to look back on… and I can’t wait to see what we capture this year.

Client Feature: Monica ✨

Monica had a vision for images that felt deeply connected to her Texas roots and western heritage, and bringing that vision to life with her was such a special experience.

One of the things that meant the most to me was hearing how comfortable and guided she felt through the process. From wardrobe guidance, to planning, to creating an experience on my private property that felt relaxed and personal, every detail matters to me. And because Monica didn’t have her own horse for the session, I was able to provide one of mine, Spirit, who helped make the entire experience feel natural, calm, and unforgettable.

Her kind words truly mean so much:

“Lauren provided so much guidance… it produced a very wonderful and comfortable experience.”

And that is exactly the heart behind what I do. I want these sessions to be more than beautiful photos — I want them to feel like an experience you’ll always remember.

Monica, thank you for trusting me with your vision and for taking the time to share such thoughtful words about your session. 🤍

If you’ve been dreaming about your own western-inspired portrait session, this is your sign.

Everyone sees the final image…
but not the teamwork, timing, and chaos it took to get there.

Trainer. Best friend. Assistant.
Perfect timing. A little luck.
…and a dog who said ‘I belong here too.’ 🐶✨

This is what goes into creating something that feels effortless.

You don’t need a better camera.
You need a better setup.

Here’s what actually makes the difference:

1. Lighting (this is everything)
Overcast skies or soft evening light = rich, even tones
Harsh sun = blown highlights + shadows under eyes

2. Background matters more than your horse’s color
Busy barns, cars, and clutter will ruin a photo faster than anything
Clean, open space = instant upgrade

3. Your horse’s expression
Ears forward ≠ enough
We want soft eyes + relaxed attention

4. Your position
Most people stand too close or too high
Small adjustments completely change the feel of an image

5. The connection
This is the difference between a snapshot and a portrait
The best images feel like something — not just look good

Pinterest photos aren’t accidents.
They’re intentional in every single detail.

And once you see it… you can’t unsee it.

✨ Save this for your next session (or before you grab your phone to take a quick photo)

People will see eight horses and just think “impressive.”

I see the hours, the groundwork, the respect…
the kind you can’t fake when you’re holding this many lead ropes.

✨ Client Feature: Giuliana Marie Woodall ✨

Some clients become so much more than clients 🤍

I met Giuliana about 5 years ago when she was my very first farm vet… and since then, she’s been a steady hand through every stage of my journey—
from first horses, to herd management, to the kind of honest guidance every horse owner needs (even when it’s not what you want to hear 😅).

She’s cared for my horses like they were her own… and somewhere along the way, she became a friend I trust deeply.

I’ve had the honor of photographing her business, her horses, and even her wedding… and every time, it’s the same—
a pure heart, a good soul, and a bond with her horses that speaks for itself.

These aren’t just photos.
This is the kind of connection that deserves to be remembered. ✨
