I started this ābusinessāā¦and by business, I absolutely mean a hobby with a camera and a lot of confidence I probably didnāt deserve š
It was during COVID when we were all bored out of our minds and just trying to survive off sourdough bread and TikTok. I borrowed my momās old camera that hadnāt seen the light of day in years and started taking pictures of my friends becauseā¦what else were we doing? I remember posting those photos SO confidently, like I had just discovered a hidden talent. Meanwhile, the edits were questionable at best, the focus wasā¦optional, and the poses? Letās just say weāve all grown š¤£
And some of yāall really hyped me up like I was out here doing something incredible. Thank you for the support but also, respectfully, you couldāve been a little more honest š
Over the years, this little āhobbyā turned into something so much more. There have been seasons where my books were completely full, and seasons where life said āhey, letās pile it onā starting my teaching career, planning a wedding, getting my masterās degree, having a baby, coaching a competitive cheer teamā¦you know, just a few small things. During those times, I had to step back and be intentional about what I could take on, and photography took a slower seat, but it never left.
Because the truth is, I love this. I really do.
Sometimes I go back and look at photos from years ago, not just to laugh (because I doā¦a lot), but to remind myself how far Iāve come. And more than that, I get emotional thinking about how many of you have trusted me with your lives in the most meaningful ways.
Iāve gotten to capture your families as theyāve grown and changed, first birthdays, senior years, wedding days, maternity sessions, fresh 48s, and even those incredibly hard moments, like final pictures with beloved pets. Iāve watched traditions form right in front of me, with families coming back year after year for holiday photos. That kind of trust is something I donāt take lightly, and I honestly donāt think Iāll ever have the right words to fully express how much it means to me.
What started as something to pass the time has turned into something that fills my heart in ways I never expected.
So hereās to growth, to learning, to giving myself grace, and to thanking God every single day that my photos donāt look like they did in the beginning š¤£
6 years of MBM⦠and weāre just getting started š¤
