So, there is a wonderful story behind this photo. This is Nate and Cait. When Nate decided he was going to propose to Cait, he asked if I could photograph the big moment. In order to keep Cait from figuring it out, we decided we would set up a double-date with one of our guy friends. We had it all planned it out when a mutual friend told us that Cait was on to us and our plan. She didn't buy our story! So, we decided to go all out. We went on our first date and my date and I used our very best acting skills to convince Cait we liked each other. Then, a week later, I ran it by Cait to have a second double date, acting extra smitten and nervous for an extra touch. Little did she know, the three of us were planning a dinner date on the docks with a 'spontaneous' walk afterwards. My friend Brit would be hiding, ready to pass off my camera to me at the last moment, and I was going to capture the moment the moment at sunset (I looked the exact time up online). And then, right as I got picked up by my date, it started raining. Not only that, but our meals took forever to arrive, and I was panicking as it grew dark outside. When we left the restaurant, we grabbed our umbrellas and went for a stroll. We grabbed Brit, and she hid behind my date, and boom. He proposed and we snapped away. It was dark and rainy, but that couldn't ruin this beautiful moment. It was priceless to see her face as she realized the whole thing, including my relationship, was a setup! A late congratulations to Nate and Cait! And at least now I know all the things that can go wrong in a surprise engagement shoot!:)
