Bri wanted a maternity session that artistically captured this incredible season of life as she eagerly awaits the arrival of her little girl.

We started in the studio, creating images that celebrated the beauty, strength, and anticipation of motherhood. Then we headed to the beach and ended the evening standing in the water at sunset, chasing the last light of the day.

One of my favorite moments from this session is included in this video. You'll see a quick behind-the-scenes clip of me photographing Bri and her partner in the water, followed by the moment I run over and show them the image on the back of my camera. That's one of the things I love most about what I do—watching people see themselves in a way they may have never seen before.

Bri had a vision for how she wanted to remember this chapter of her life. My role was simply to help bring that vision to life.

The truth is, almost every expectant mother I photograph tells me she was nervous before her session. She wasn't sure what to wear, how to pose, or whether she'd like being in front of the camera. By the end, those worries are usually long gone.

If you've been considering a maternity session but haven't taken the first step, I'd love to talk with you. This season doesn't last long, but the photographs will.
