✨WHAT YOU SEE / WHAT I SEE✨
You see a photographer hunkered down, camera in hand, taking a few pictures.
I see 20 years of experience happening in a matter of seconds.
I’m thinking about manual camera settings, light, color, lens choice, composition, posing, movement, equine behavior, connection, timing, expressions, distractions, and everything happening around me that you may never notice... even the little things I have no control over - like which way the wind decides to blow.
And then, after the session, there’s the editing... the decisions that shape what you ultimately see.
I’ve spent years learning how to make all of that look effortless.
And I think sometimes that’s where the misunderstanding happens.
Because when you make something look easy, people assume it *is* easy.
But effortless is rarely the absence of effort.
Sometimes it’s what 20 years of experience looks like.
And don't get me wrong... until my last breath, I will forever be a work in progress.
But perhaps that's also a reminder to pause before trying to negotiate someone's worth down to what you think it should be.
Consider the years of time, energy, sacrifice, investment, and experience someone has poured into becoming good at what they do.
You don't have to place the same value on their craft that they do.
But you should respect that the value is there.💛
