You could spend your wedding day trying to make 230 people happy…

Or you could read your vows above the clouds at sunrise and spend the rest of the day exploring Hawaii together.

No complicated timeline. No pressure to entertain everyone. No planning all of the details about table arrangements. Just a wedding day that actually feels like the two of you…

And if that’s going on an adventure, then I say GO FOR IT! 🙌🏼

Send this to the person you’d elope with!

This was a first for me! 🙌🏼 Morgan and Cory have horses back home, so it was really important to them to include horses on their wedding day in Kauai. What made it even more special is that they didn’t share their vows during their sunrise elopement ceremony, but instead said them beside the horses surrounded by epic mountains on the cliffs. It was SO special and I will always remember this incredible elopement!

Would you include your dogs, horses, or another animal on your wedding day!?

Can you guess the most requested photograph that my couples want on their elopement? It’s trashing the wedding dress in the ocean! The ocean in Hawaii is warm year-round and there are so many safe beaches to easily access a calm ocean. This is the BEST way to end a session!

Would you go in the ocean in your wedding attire?

The amount of decisions that go into a traditional wedding is genuinely overwhelming. Venue, catering, seating arrangements, centerpieces, a timeline that has to work for 150 people with different needs and opinions.

An elopement flips all of that.

The only two people you have to make happy are standing right next to each other. Every decision gets easier when the guest list is two. 🤍

If you’ve been feeling the weight of wedding planning, it might be worth asking whether you’re planning the day you actually want.

One of the first things we do when planning an elopement is throw out the standard wedding timeline and start from scratch.

What do you actually want to do that day? Where do you want to be when you say your vows? Is there something on the island you’ve always wanted to experience?

That’s where we start. Pit stops, detours, spontaneous decisions, all of it is on the table. The best elopement days rarely go exactly as planned, and that’s usually the point. 🤙

The number one thing holding couples back from the elopement they actually want is the fear of disappointing people.

And look, that fear is valid. Some family members will have feelings about it. A few friends might be surprised. But here’s what we’ve seen over and over: the people who love you come around. Especially when they see how happy you are. 🤍

Nobody looks back on their wedding day wishing they had stressed more about other people’s expectations. Plan the day that’s right for you two first.

What if you wrote your vows the day of?

No rehearsed speech, no memorizing lines the night before. These two sat down right before the ceremony and wrote exactly what they wanted to say in that moment. And honestly, it showed.

Elopements have a way of stripping away the pressure that comes with traditional weddings. When it’s just the two of you, there’s no audience to perform for. You can say the weird, specific, true things that actually matter.

If you’ve been stressing about vows, writing them on the day is genuinely one of our favorite approaches. No polish needed. Just whatever’s actually on your mind when you’re standing in the middle of somewhere beautiful about to commit to each other for good.

I know so many people dream of getting elopeed in Hawaii but they assume it’s going to be complicated with paperwork, rules, and planning from far away.

It’s actually WAY easier than most people think.

Here’s the simple breakdown of how our process works:

1. You don’t need a witness! (I get this question A LOT!)
2. You fill out a quick marriage license application online
3. You meet with a marriage agent near where you’re staying to pick up the license (it takes minutes)
4. You book an officiant who can legally marry you in Hawaii (I have a list of amazing ones)
5. You get married in one of the most beautiful places on planet earth and take photos like THIS!

That’s it.

Then we get to the fun part, picking the island, choosing the locations, deciding on sunrise vs sunset, and building a timeline that feels easy and stress-free.

If getting married in Hawaii has been on your heart, this is your sign to start making it real!

I love looking back at past elopements that I’ve captured and reliving the day. This was such a beautiful one!

The dark moody clouds rolling through the mountains made everything feel so dramatic. We explored cliffs, took in those big mountain views, and just let the island do its thing.

And then during the ceremony…we got a sea turtle!

Moments like that remind me why Hawaii elopements are so special. You can’t plan everything, and honestly you don’t need to. The day just unfolds, and you end up with a story you’ll remember forever.

If you’re dreaming about an elopement with moody mountain vibes, epic cliffs, and all the little surprises Hawaii loves to bring, check out our Hawaii elopement packages on our website. Or DM me and I’ll send you the info!

Quick question, would you rather have moody clouds or a bright blue sky on your elopement day?!

I LOVE when couples do this.

Because hiking up a mountain in Hawaii in high heels isn’t something I’d normally suggest. And if you’re choosing a Hawaii elopement, you’re probably not doing it because you want to play it safe or stay perfectly clean!

This is what an adventure elopement can look like:

You hike up in your hiking clothes.
I take you to the best views.
You change into your wedding clothes.
You can still do “first look” shots.
And then if you want, you kick the shoes off because barefoot just makes sense.

And yes, the dress might get dirty. But honestly, that’s part of the fun. The dirt on your clothes is proof you actually did the adventure, not just posed for it.

If you want a wedding day that feels fun and adventurous, this is your kind of elopement.

Let me know, would you go barefoot on your wedding day or are you keeping the shoes on?!
