Was recently privileged to join Mike Pach of 3Peaks Photography & Design out of Colorado Springs as he led the first ever officially permitted astrophotography class on Pike's Peak. Alpine monsoons, the ensuing lightning, Perseid meteors, an iconic 2500yr old bristlecone pine, and the wildfire smoked sunrise above the valley.. an experience, to be sure. In case you had not heard (perhaps the clarion call and beacons lit have not swayed your armies): Tamron Americas (and your intrepid Tamron Rocky Mountain Region) will be spending the weekend with the lovelies at Englewood Camera this Friday and Saturday, 8/21 and 8/22. Will have all the toys including, of course, the wicked cool 12-20 F2.8 in both Nikon and Sony, and the barnstorming 35-100 F2.8, and, you know, the 150-500 VC. Which captured this image, from the summit of Pike's Peak, of the new dawn clearly finding voice. The photo is unedited. The sun and our wildfire atmosphere speak for themselves.

Brothers and sisters in optics! Tamron Americas is doing a pop up event Mike's Camera Lone Tree in support of tomorrow's photo shoot with HawkQuest, today, til 530p!

I've personally had the privilege of working with Kin Quitugua and his HawkQuest raptor rescue and rehabilitation group, for nearly two decades. Kin and his staff have always represented the platinum standard in the field. Schools, health and welfare, photo groups and, of course, our workshops with local camera stores dating back to the early 2000s, anywhere conservation and awareness can be taught, HawkQuest will be found. It's been such a privilege, any time I get the call to help instruct the photo classes, I am 100% there to the best of my ability. SO I am looking forward to helping teach my group of students tomorrow!
(We all know the coolest group at the birds of prey shoot is the Tamron group)

A reminder that this weekend is Color, Light, & Smoke weekend at with Anja Stoll Photography, TamronTech Kristine, Tamron Americas, and Pictureline Boise!

The illustrious Kristine will be in store both Friday and Saturday showing off Tamron's latest (along with offering in-store, event exclusive pricing!). Saturday night pictureline will host the queen, Anja Stoll as she shows an exceedingly luck class how she goes about creating the high fashion looks she's done for publications around the world... and how you can recreate these looks in small spaces, on short budgets. Kristine will be loaning Tamron glass to any student who'd like to give them a try in the studio environment!
