Our next run will be into the beautiful backwoods of the Tamron Rocky Mountain Region, on the road from 6/18 - 6/29! We are going to put some proper miles on our National Car Rental vehicle for this one. If you haven't already checked out the event posting for our annual butterfly shoot with The Butterfly Haven Idaho and Yellowstone Camera Store, head to the events tab to learn about it!

We'll also be at the Yellowstone Camera Store location for three days, 6/22 - 6/24! We will have the latest glass in the ever expanding Tamron Americas catalog and we'll be offering both firmware updates and optical therapy to weary travelers :) If the weather holds, we do anticipate heading into the park for a night shoot or two. You are most welcome to join us!

After West, we'll be headed to Wyoming Camera Outfitters - Jackson 6/26 and 6/27! Travis and his crew are well situated in the midst of Jackson, WY and it will be very good to see them. If the weather holds, we'll be east of the hole shooting the wild horses on 6/28! Check in at the shop while we're there :)

We don't get to see our rural, back country stores often enough so do take advantage of our visits! Very much looking forward to seeing you all out there.

Swallowtail captured at The Butterfly Haven Idaho with the egregiously underrated Tamron A069 50-300 VC VXD 1:2 Macro at 87mm opened to f/7.1 for 1/125s at ISO 400. Handheld.

Blowout Jetty Campground launch, a fabulous local secret find along the Snake River, captured at sunset with the Tamron A074 28-300 VC VXD at 34mm opened to f/11 for 4min at ISO 100.
Tripod and Breakthrough Photography 10stop ND most definitely in play.

We've had the busiest first half in the history of my 11 years with Tamron. Extraordinary. Thanks to all of you for your inspiration and support! See you in the field 😎 - Marc

Some cupholders aspire to be better, to be more. Tamron Americas A064 16-30 f/2.8 VXD G2 classes up any joint... But most especially this rental car. We're headed back to Colorado for some office time and a forthcoming visit to our friends at Englewood Camera. A visit long overdue, I daresay. We've been out of our home state more than we've been in, this entire first half!

More events are in the offing! Idaho, Montana, Wyoming! Keep an eye out :) we'll be posting up shortly.

See you in the field! -Marc

Prepping for our full day with pictureline inc.today, in support of our macro weekend! We should be in-store right around 10a and we will have (almost) all the glass out on the table :)

Very much looking forward to our class at Red Butte Garden, tomorrow, as well. In celebration, here's lichens on quartz granite matrix, under 365nm UV, at night. Captured with the Tamron Americas A065 70-180 f/2.8 G2. 71mm at f/8, light painted for 25sec. ISO 200 😎

See you at pictureline!

The new Tamron 35-100mm F/2.8 for Sony is one of those lenses that makes you immediately start looking around for excuses to shoot something. 📸
A super-useful 35-100mm range, a sweet constant f/2.8 aperture, and fast VXD autofocus? Yeah… this thing understood the assignment. From portraits to street work to events to everyday storytelling, it gives you that beautiful mix of flexibility, speed, and creamy background separation that makes Sony shooters grin like they just got away with something. 😂🔥

And let’s talk about the real magic: the images. Clean, sharp, rich, and polished in a way that just feels expensive. Mounted on a Sony body, this lens looks like it was built for people who want pro-level results without hauling around a medieval weapon disguised as glass. It’s compact, capable, and dangerously fun to use. Tamron may have just handed a whole lot of photographers their new favorite lens. 🙌✨

My friends, don’t forget to have a fantastically blessed day wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, and never stop being amazing.

Remember:Keep on creating. The image you captured todaycan change the world tomorrow.

Remember:Be kind to yourself and others.Be amazing stewards on the trail. And we have to ask, What are you waiting for? 'Get Out, Arizona!”We will see you on the next adventure.

We are BACK from the east coast adventures (and some lovely time off with the greater family infrastructure) and we are prepping for MORE.

Starting with our macro weekend at Red Butte Garden hosted by the lovelies at pictureline inc. SLC! We will be headed back to the Wasatch front range this coming weekend, spending a full day at the store on Friday, June 5, along with a half-day in the store on Saturday June, 6. We'll then head to Red Butte Garden for a proper walking photo workshop with loaner lenses and on-hand instruction from pictureline inc. staff and yours truly :)!

Spots in the class are limited! It's $39 to register. Head on over to the pictureline inc. website here, for more information! We hope to see you there!

Those of you who've had the misfortune of heading out to shoot with me 😁 know that I spend a lot of time on sticks. Long exposures are my bread and butter, when there's the time and inclination. Well, our talented tech team has published a bit of a guide on expanding your long exposure repertoire. Check it out after the jump:

Explore long exposure photography with ND filters, capturing motion, light trails, and stunning night skies using Tamron lenses.

SO. A gentleman on Instagram politely asked if I would be so kind as to post a list of the lenses that are currently compatible with the Tamron-LINK. I can do this. As of 5/18/26 there are 6 lenses for Nikon Z and 11 for Sony E that are compliant with two hybrid lenses awaiting their firmware update for compatibility:

28-75 f/2.8 VXD G2 for Nikon Z
35-150 f/2-2.8 VXD for Sony E

Aside from these two pieces, every lens listed in the attached slide has had a firmware update released as of 3/26/26. For a few of these lenses, this will be a 4th or even 5th generation update. SO, again, if you haven't been seeing to your firmware, please do so, asap :)

Questions? Drop em in the chat! Happy to answer any and all. Existential or optical!
