Just got back home to the gorge and was super stoked to find the latest 1859 magazine with one of my images featured on the inside back cover. It’s a winter time predawn shot from the Rowena Loops.

Got up early to catch a peaceful scene of the rising new moon over the sea of Cortez in mid December. Finally got around to editing it and thought I would post. The moon was only at about 2.4% when the image was taken. I hope you enjoy and thanks for looking.

Big thanks to all of you who helped pick out these three images. I entered them in the "Best of the Gorge" show at Columbia Center for the Arts and all three were accepted! The show opens this first friday and I will be there. I also have an image at 301 gallery's new show called 24x24 so I will also be checking in there for first friday. Sounds like a fun and art filled night so join me. Sorry but I had to crop these to make them fit on instagram 😥

31 minutes of moon time. Trying something a little different for me. This is a combination of three exposures that were approximately 10 minutes long taken one immediately after the other in the predawn hour. I used some dark filters over the lens to be able to really lengthen the exposure and capture the moon streaking over Mt Hood with some peak blossoms in the foreground. Next time I will just take one longer exposure as my photoshop skills are not great and it made it was challenging for me to blend the moon into one streak

A couple weeks ago we had a forecast of lightning and thunder. It never showed up but we had some awesome clouds drifting by in the morning which I caught on a timelapse.
