What a way to close out the 104th Annual Ski Hi Stampede!

Sunday brought our Valley together for an incredible final performance filled with remarkable horsemanship, determination, and some serious grit. From the first ride to the final run, the athletes and animals gave us an unforgettable show and a fitting finish to another wonderful year of rodeo.

Saturday night brought another exciting round of PRCA rodeo action to the 104th Annual Ski Hi Stampede in Monte Vista, Colorado!

During the opening ceremonies, representatives from the branches of the United States military were welcomed into the arena for a tribute honoring the service and sacrifices of America’s military members. The San Luis Valley community erupted in applause and cheers, showing its gratitude for all who have served and those who continue to serve today.

Saturday was also Gold Night at the Ski Hi Stampede in partnership with the Golden Circle of Champions, helping raise awareness for children fighting cancer. We were graced with the presence of Oakley and Aiden, two brave young champions who joined the Stampede community for a special presentation to help bring attention to pediatric cancer awareness. It was a meaningful reminder of the courage carried by these children and their families.

Pro Rodeo Clown Dusty Myers brought plenty of laughter to the arena with an attempt to launch a rocket directly from the SLV Ski Hi Complex. Rider Keisner joined him for the experiment, and the results were every bit as hilarious as you might imagine.

Following the Saddle Bronc Riding, Rider and Bethany Keisner returned to the arena for another fantastic specialty performance. Their talent, horsemanship, and entertaining act were once again a wonderful part of the evening.

The grandstands were full, the energy was high, and the contestants delivered powerful rides, fast runs, and plenty of Saturday night rodeo action. We loved seeing so many familiar faces and hope you enjoy reliving the evening through the photographs!

The Saturday morning Slack Rodeo at the Ski Hi Stampede may not have the evening spotlight, but it's where determination, grit, and countless hours of preparation shine just as brightly.

From the first event to the last, contestants battled beneath the hot San Luis Valley sun, where our high alpine desert heat is a challenge all its own. Every run reflected hours upon hours of practice, dedication, and a passion for rodeo that keeps this western tradition alive.

It was especially great to see so many local contestants from across the San Luis Valley competing at the Ski Hi Stampede. Watching friends, neighbors, and familiar faces step into the arena is one of the things that makes this rodeo so special.

The 104th Annual Ski Hi Stampede got off to a great start Friday night in Monte Vista, Colorado!

Opening ceremonies included a special moment as the Ski Hi Stampede Committee recognized our local first responders for their dedication and service to our communities. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our first responders for everything you do.

The crowd enjoyed plenty of laughs, sing-alongs, and audience participation, adding to the fun throughout the evening. Rider & Bethany Keisner once again put on an outstanding specialty act that was a crowd favorite!

The Smith Pro Rodeo stock was exceptional as always. They are incredible athletes and a big part of what makes the Ski Hi Stampede such a great rodeo.

What a great night at the Ski Hi Stampede Concert! Joe Nichols opened the evening, followed by headliner Chase Rice, who brought plenty of energy to the stage. Thank you to the Ski Hi Stampede Committee for another great concert!

We knew we were going to enjoy photographing Emilie. We were thrilled that we got three seasons to tell her story in pictures.

We spent an evening along the banks of the Rio Grande, where the autumn leaves became the backdrop for the beginning of her Senior story.

Later, we photographed her Stepping into Eighteen. With a colorful cake, shiny balloons, roses, and plenty of excitement, it wasn't just about turning eighteen. It was about standing at the edge of a brand-new chapter, filled with dreams, possibilities, and the promise of everything still to come.

When spring arrived, we found ourselves wandering through the peaceful beauty of the Secret Garden, where Emilie looked absolutely stunning in her prom gown, a perfect way to bring her unforgettable Senior year full circle.

Congratulations Emilie! Our wish for you is that your confidence continues to open new doors, your adventurous spirit leads you to places you've only imagined, and your determination carries you to every goal you set for yourself.

Sometimes, accomplishments tell only part of a person's story.

As the evening drew to a close, Justyce brought out the uniforms that had become such a meaningful part of her high school years. From cheering for the Monte Vista Pirates under the Friday night lights to exciting opportunities beyond her hometown. Each uniform represented a different chapter of her story. Among them were the distinctive red, white, and blue uniforms of a Varsity Spirit All-American Cheerleader, an honor earned by only a select group of athletes through their skill, leadership, dedication, and spirit. They represented far more than uniforms. They were a bold statement about the athlete Justyce is, proof that extraordinary achievements are built through years of commitment, perseverance, discipline, and the determination to never settle for less than her very best.

Yet what stayed with us most wasn't the impressive collection of uniforms. It was the young woman standing beside them.

Justyce is wonderfully soft-spoken, but don't mistake her quiet nature for a lack of confidence or ambition. She knows what she stands for and isn't afraid of the work it takes to pursue her goals. She has a radiant smile, a thoughtful heart, and a humility that's becoming increasingly rare. She never seeks to stand above those around her or push her way into the spotlight. Instead, she has the kind of character that quietly earns respect and admiration without ever asking for it.

In a world that often encourages people to be the loudest voice in the room, Justyce reminds us that genuine strength is often found in quiet confidence, steadfast determination, and a heart that celebrates the success of others as readily as its own.

Justyce, our hope for you is that the road ahead is filled with opportunities worthy of your gifts and your character. May your determination continue to open doors, your humility remain one of your greatest strengths, and your radiant spirit leave every place you go a little brighter. With the kind of timeless style that never goes out of fashion, Jonathan stepped in front of the camera looking every bit the gentleman. His dazzling smile, classic black bow tie, and the brilliant blue of his truck stood out beautifully against the warm fall colors of Del Norte, creating a scene we won't soon forget. And of course, Mace, the Quintana family dog, couldn't resist taking a few pictures with his best buddy.

As the evening unfolded, so did another side of Jonathan. Whether he was sharing his love of music with his electric guitar or simply enjoying the moment, each stop along the way added another piece to his story. It was a joy creating these Senior portraits for another outstanding Alamosa Senior.

Then we wrapped up the evening with something special.

Our final stop took us to a rugged rocky landscape where Jonathan swapped his bow tie for his motocross gear and climbed onto his dirt bike. It was the perfect way to end the evening, capturing one of Jonathan's greatest passions in a setting that couldn't have suited him better.

To the Quintana family, thank you for trusting Vibrant Valley Photography once again. There is no greater compliment than when families return to us for another Senior Session. We had so much fun with all of you, and we're so grateful for the opportunity to capture this unforgettable chapter in Jonathan's life.

Sometimes the best Senior Sessions aren't the ones with perfect blue skies.

Sometimes they're the ones where soft rain deepens every color, the mountains glow a little richer, and an Alamosa High School Senior simply embraces the moment.

Carlos did exactly that.

As the gentle drizzle came and went throughout his Senior Session in beautiful South Fork, Colorado, he never lost his smile or his positive attitude. He was gracious, appreciative, and an absolute joy to photograph. The peaceful weather seemed to fit him perfectly, creating Senior portraits that feel authentic, relaxed, and unmistakably Colorado.
