What’s the first thing I do during a newborn shoot after greeting the family? Walk around with my light meter and digital camera and find the best light! Take test images and move around! Don’t forget to look outside (this image was shot during a rainy day on the back porch of their home). This guides my whole session and gives my clients a good idea of what to expect. Of course the light can change but having a general idea of where you’ll be shooting cuts out a lot of the guess work!
