Hill country driving. Literally took pics through my windshield without looking. Many people tell me how they have lived here their whole life and have never seen the places I photograph. That is sad to me. May I inspire you to and enjoy life while you can! I’m taking a lesson out of my own play book. I tend to work too much too! I always see flags and old churches

This is Matagorda Bay by the shipping channel. Sitting on the huge mossy rocks looking down into the black water depths, you can see massive shadows lurking and an occasional sea turtle hurrying along. Careful not to slip, I looked a few yard away where a guy with a cigarette hanging on his bottom lip was fishing. In two seconds he disappeared underwater! He had slid off slippery moss and in one second he was clambering out of those spooky water! His face was white with fear and no sign of that cigarette.

I took this photograph years ago on a peaceful early morning as the fog had settled across the Guadalupe River in Hunt, Texas. The image made the cover of my Calendar that year. My heart still breaks for those families.
