I have enjoyed coffee while watching the waves crash along the Mediterranean in Tel Aviv. I have sipped it in the blazing heat of Senegal, where the air hums with rhythm and life. I have enjoyed espresso in New York City cafes, where every cup feels like it’s in a hurry. I’ve started my mornings with cold brew in San Francisco—where coffee is an art form served with a side of fog.

But no matter where I’ve been, nothing has ever come close to the coffee here on Park Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Red Light Roastery Coffee House doesn’t just make coffee; they brew something much rarer—a sense of home.

It was here, in 2016, where I would sip coffee with friends that quickly became family. It was here, in 2017, where I would come study during flight school. It was here, in 2019, I would come relax during my time in graduate school.
Most importantly, it was here, on December 29, 2022, that I sat with my soon-to-be fiancé and a million thoughts of proposing in my head. That cup of coffee steadied me—not just because it was the best I’d ever had, but because this place made everything feel right. This place made me feel at home.

Now, as they move to a new location, the feelings are bittersweet. I’ll miss this house—this creaky, cozy old home. But what makes Red Light special isn’t confined to these walls. What they serve is more than a cup—it’s every conversation, every memory, every decision. Here’s to the past, to the best coffee I’ve ever had, and to all the new memories waiting to be brewed.
