Dear Families of BSH | The Black Santa Houston,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Rita L. Hughes, who lovingly served as Mrs. Claus with The Black Santa Houston beginning in the summer of 2021.

Many of you may remember Ms. Rita’s beautiful smile, loving spirit, and the kindness she brought to every child and family she met. Throughout her years with The Black Santa Houston, she helped create joyful holiday memories for countless children and families across our community.

Those of us who had the privilege of working alongside Ms. Rita will remember her incredible talent, grace, generosity, and the care she showed to others. Her presence helped make the holiday season feel truly magical.

On behalf of my family and the entire BSH | The Black Santa Houston community, we extend our deepest condolences to Ms. Rita’s family, friends, and loved ones.
