“Bittersweet”

I chose that title for this photo I captured yesterday because of a situation our family is currently going through: the passing of one of our most beloved members. An uncle passed away this week, and I simply want to say that this is the sentiment that perhaps many of us in the family are feeling right now: a bittersweet feeling—bitter because he is gone and it hurts us deeply; yet sweet, too, because of how much he left behind for all of us who loved him. So many good moments, unforgettable experiences, and—above all—his sons and daughters who, more than just my cousins, are like siblings to me, and through whom he continues to live on among us.

Quise ponerle ese titulo a esta foto que capture ayer por una situacion que estamos pasando en la familia: la muerte de uno de los miembros mas queridos. Esta semana fallecio un tio y sencillamente quiero decir que esa es la sensacion que quiza muchos de mi familia sentimos ahora: un sentimiento agridulce porque se nos ha ido y nos duele muchisimo. Pero tambien nos deja tanto a todos los que lo quisimos. Tantos buenos momentos, experiencias inolvidables y principalmente sus hijos e hijas que mas que mis primos son mis hermanos y que mediante ellos el sigue estando con nosotros.
