A few from an evening at their home on Rice’s campus with the Stadler family. A very brave kiddo pushed through the pain from a gnarly ant attack about 5 minutes into this shoot and managed some smiles. You never know what’s going to happen during your shoot. Be flexible, let it flow, and maybe avoid climbing the trees on Rice’s campus 🐜.

A selection of favorites from An Emerald Evening, 💚✨!
This event was built with one simple idea in mind: when a community comes together, something magical happens. It was a night to celebrate family, give back, and build a stronger Houston community. I felt so lucky to crash the party as a mom and document year one of what’s sure to become an incredible annual tradition! My kiddos had the best time. Watching nearly 200 girls dance their hearts out, hand in hand with their dads and father figures, had me teary behind the camera more than once. The joy was palpable.
Through their partnership with , the night became more than a dance. The funds raised support scholarships, volunteer training, and expansion into more local schools. GOTR empowers girls to build emotional and physical strength through mentorship, movement, and life skills, making this more than a magical night out and a true investment in the next generation of strong, joyful, empowered young women.

Before you take photos looking lovingly at your children, a lot of us take them looking at our dogs like this. Only dog people get how real this is - how they’re often the first building block in a family. My friend Hannah sent me this first photo yesterday, a day after losing their dog Breck, with the words “Thank you for this forever cherished pic 🫶🏼.” I pulled up this shoot from 2017, long before they built their beautiful family with three kiddos. Life gets fuller and louder and busier, and it’s all so good. But that simple love from the early days with a pup? Still right there. A reminder this morning to cherish all of it.
