Just one layer of work here which will be worked on more if I want to. This is the last spread I did from one of my journals. It is something meant for my eyes only, for me to work through issues, mark time, play with new ideas etc. It is a safe place to play. I thought I would share because this is basically a type of vision board. What do you dream, desire, and need to work on? All of this can go into your journal. Think of it in a way like a diary but this is a bigger idea. Because it's not meant to be seen by anyone other than you it's not meant to be pretty unless however, you want it to be. Your walls are a place for pretty or shareable art. Your journal is a place where you can scotch tape magazine clippings, doodle, color, put photographs in, and do anything you can think of. I've never doodled a salmon before and so I decided to look up the symbology of what the salmon represent. It is along the lines of perseverance. This fish swims successfully upstream and teaches you how to find a purpose and how to cope with challenges. I'm not supposed to go with the flow because everyone else is doing it or this is how it's supposed to go. More or less, I need to find my dance and do it to my own drum. This is what I am working with already so it's especially interesting to me that it came up in my doodles. When you are doing art of any kind you get into your right brain and your unconscious. Your art can become a Rorschach test for not only you to go back and look at and decipher but for others. Everyone will interpret the art from their own experiences and journey. Would you guys be interested in learning how to journal? Let me know here or send me a dm
