I’m well into my GREAT-AUNTIE era and I would just like to formally say that I am not emotionally prepared for this title. 😩😂

But look at my baby!! 🥹🤎

Today I had the pleasure of photographing my beautiful great-niece, and she is an absolute DOLL.

Now before anybody gets any ideas… 😂 I am not adding newborn photographer to the résumé. I specialize in families and branding, and I am very comfortable staying in my lane. HOWEVER… if one of my families has a new little addition, of course I know how to capture a few beautiful moments. And when my own family calls? Auntie is showing up with the camera. Period. 😂

Today wasn’t about trying to turn myself into a newborn photographer. It was about documenting the newest little person in our family and giving her mama some beautiful images that we’ll all be able to look back on years from now.

And honestly, that’s one of my favorite things about being a family photographer anyway.

Babies grow.
Kids grow.
Families change.
And photographs let us keep a little piece of who we were in each season. 🤎

Christmas at Monica Blackshire Photography is now booking.

And yes… I know it’s August. I know it’s 100 degrees outside. 😂 But if you’re one of my people, you already understand.

We don’t wait until December to start thinking about Christmas.

We plan early so there’s time to choose the outfits, create the memories, order the Christmas cards and actually enjoy the season when it arrives.

Because around here, Christmas portraits aren’t just something to check off the holiday to-do list.

This is for my Christmas people.

The ones who know August isn’t too early. 😂 The ones who start thinking about Christmas while it’s still 100 degrees outside because we don’t want December to feel rushed.

Around here, we start early. We plan early. We think through the details early.

Because I want your Christmas portraits to feel intentional and beautifully curated. I want your images back in time to actually enjoy them. I want your Christmas cards and announcements ordered without the last-minute scramble.

And most of all, I want the experience of creating these memories to actually feel like Christmas…joyful, beautiful and unrushed.

A courthouse wedding doesn't have to feel like a compromise.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that if you're getting married at the courthouse, you have to give up the beautiful wedding experience.

I couldn't disagree more.

Tamara and Erek's wedding at the historic 1910 Harris County Courthouse was intimate, elegant, and full of meaningful moments. Their day is proof that you don't need a ballroom or a guest list of 300 to have timeless photographs and unforgettable memories.
