I’m excited to share that I’m teaching my next two LIGHTING & POSING WORKSHOPS.

Every photographer hits the same wall: a client freezes in front of the camera and you’re not sure what to say next. This workshop gives you a system for that moment.

For those of you who always ask about my lighting setups and posing strategies, this workshop will cover both.

I’m teaching Posing & Directing: Create Natural, Confident Portraits, a hands-on class for photographers who work with real people, not just models.

We’ll cover pose variations, hand placement, body language coaching, and verbal direction that works across ages and body types. In addition, you’ll learn my straightforward lighting setups that flatter any body shape.

You’ll leave with a practical approach you can use with any subject.

Today I went outside the studio for a color analysis session with Maja Koziara, owner of Your Best Colors. You may recognize her from her recent Personal Branding session at our studio.
 
Maja has THE most adorable studio in The Heights and is phenomenal at finding the right colors to make you look your best. The experience was F-U-N and I walked away with a clear list of colors to use (and which to avoid!)
 
Before a single photo gets taken, wouldn’t it be amazing to know which tones bring out your natural coloring, your eyes, your skin, your hair, so every photo that follows builds from colors that work for you, not against you?

Most people are not naturally comfortable in front of the camera and at Angi Lewis Studios they don’t need to be.

A truly professional portrait is not created by asking someone to stand in front of a backdrop and hope for the best. It’s created through expert direction.

Our photo of Willa Brown is the August 2026 cover of Woman’s World magazine.
 
Willa lost over 100 pounds following recipes from the book ‘Skinny Taste’, and her story is featured inside: “Drop 100+ Pounds at Any Age.” Stephanie and I were honored to be the studio selected for this cover.
 
That kind of change deserves to be seen, and we were glad to be the ones behind the camera to capture it. Willa, you are a true inspiration! Not to mention one of the sweetest ladies we have ever met.
