My picture of a pipevine swallowtail butterfly on a cone flower recently took 4th place out of 6,129 images taken by 1,700 photographers in a contest titled 'Garden Wildlife'. The contest was on the website photocrowd.com.

There are several places in Texas that are Class 1, 2 and 3 on the Bortle dark-sky scale. This picture was taken at Lost Maples State Natural Area in the Hill Country which is a Class 3 dark sky. I used a 10 second long-exposure shutter speed for this photo.
