The moment I heard this song, everything clicked. I already had the concept in mind: an ode to loving your skin and embracing who you are as a Black woman. I kept the setup simple, so I could be intentional with the portraits. In fact, it was so simple that we shot right in the entryway of my parent’s house lol. Pearls symbolize wisdom, beauty, and resilience, and the result ended up being some of my favorite portraits! 🤍

Still soaking this in… my first published fashion editorial was posted as a webitorial for Malvie Magazine! 🥹✨

This shoot was a wild and beautiful process that started with a plan to vacation in Hawaii and turned into something that I’m so proud of. I found an amazing makeup artist based in Oahu who was so great to work with. And I was also able to find some really cool locations ahead of time with the help of (her work is absolutely stunning) and social media! Grateful for my team that helped bring my visions to life.✨

Fun fact: This was Milan’s very first photoshoot ever, and she crushed it like a pro. 😍

Shot along a hidden, jungle-like trail in Honolulu, this editorial is a playful blend of fashion and the wild. Styled in lush greens to mirror her surroundings, Milan moves between standing out and blending in, becoming part of the landscape itself.

The story explores the balance between softness and strength, structure and wildness. It’s about letting go, getting lost in nature, and proving that fashion doesn’t have to compete with the world around it. It can move with it.
