Hi, I’m John — a photographer from Southern California with a passion that began when I won my first DSLR, a Canon 7D, at just 12 years old. What started as a fun way to explore my surroundings quickly grew into a deeper drive to share visual stories. That early spark turned into a lifelong love for capturing the world through a lens. While I’m drawn to landscapes and street photography, I find in

spiration in everything from wildlife and nature to human connection and spontaneous moments. Photography captures the way I see the world — vibrant, emotional, and brimming with moments worth remembering. My childhood road trips to places like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon played a huge role in shaping my love for nature and visual storytelling. Those early adventures eventually led me to earn a master’s degree from UC Berkeley in Energy, Civil Infrastructure, and Climate — merging my passions for the environment and the wonder it inspires. Over the past decade, I’ve continued to refine my eye, focusing on complementary colors and bold contrasts that make my images feel immersive — like you're right there in the moment. Whether I’m shooting a serene landscape, a bustling city street, or a client portrait session, I aim to evoke emotion and inspire connection. When I'm behind the camera, I'm at home. My hope is that each photo invites you to pause, feel, and remember what it means to be present.

I noticed a quiet moment on Michigan Avenue: a person in a vivid red hoodie sits in a wheelchair, mask and knit cap layered against the cold. The red sweatshirt cuts through a muted street palette, a patterned gray blanket adds a domestic texture, and warm highlights shape the face while shadows hold the eyes. There’s a calm tension between motion and stillness that feels present and resilient. 🟤 Texture — get close and fill the frame. Bark detail holds up beautifully in large prints. 📐
🛣️ Leading lines — a row of trees or a single trunk draws the eye straight into your frame.
🌿 Branching structure — shoot upward from the base. The pattern against open sky is stunning.
☁️ Diffused light — a canopy turns harsh midday sun into soft, even, flattering light.
🍂 Season & color — trees are a different photograph every single month of the year.

One subject. Infinite images.
