Let’s chat ⬇️ 🫶🏻

My business is built largely on word of mouth, and YES - having a social media presence is a huge part of what keeps my business growing.

BUT, my feed will never be more important than your privacy, your babies safety, or your choices as their parent. 🤍

Times are changing. I completely understand that more and more parents are choosing not to create a digital footprint for their children, and I respect that decision wholeheartedly.

I don’t care if this is a brand new decision. I don’t care if you’ve allowed me to share photos in the past and have since changed your mind.

YOU are the parent. You get to decide. Every single time.

In the past, I’ve always asked parents to reach out and let me know if they preferred their images not be shared. But starting this month, I’ve officially added a social media permission question to every single session questionnaire.

And it won’t just be something you check once and I forget about.

Before I post an image from your session, your preference will be checked. Every session. Every time.

There will be no room for “I forgot” or “I thought they said it was okay,” because when it comes to your children and their privacy, that isn’t a mistake I’m willing to make.

Of course I LOVE sharing the beautiful families and babies I get to photograph. Your images help future clients find me, connect with my work and ultimately keep this little business of mine going.

But I can grow my business without compromising the trust you place in me.

Your babies are yours.

Your images are yours.

And your no will always be enough. Zero explanation needed 🫶🏻

This is quite literally the only thing I hear in my head while editing sweet Whitleys disco cowgirl session, I mean seriously - HOW FRICKEN CUTE?!

On another note, a quick update on where things stand editing/availability wise ⬇️

🌺 All Flower Farm Mini galleries have been delivered!
📸 Tomorrow, I will be sending ALL proofs from sessions 8/12 through 8/20! I’m about two days behind where I’d like to be, but once proofs are out - it’ll be an easy game of catch up and final gallery delivery will still be on time!
📅 I am just about FULL for outdoor full sessions through November - if you need a senior session or family session, I may have a few weekday evenings available! Otherwise, I am still available for newborns, in studio (cake smash, maternity, milestone) AND still have some availability for Mini Sessions - though those are filling up quickly, too!

I’d be lying if I said this month hasn’t been a doozy. 😂

August has been nonstop. If I’m not out shooting, I’m sitting behind my computer editing. Add in back to school shopping, supply lists, open houses, appointments, and fall sports officially starting - which means practices or games six days a week - and I am officially running on fumes. 😂

But if I’m being completely transparent, the hardest part hasn’t even been how tired I am.

It’s the mom guilt.

My kids go back to school TOMORROW, and I can’t help but look back at this last month and wonder if I worked too much. If I should’ve closed the laptop more. If we should’ve squeezed in one more day date, one more movie night, one more completely ordinary summer day where I wasn’t thinking about the next gallery I needed to finish..

I know I was still here. I know we’ve made some amazing memories as a family. We’ve done plenty of one on one dates, a vacation, a trip up north, movie nights, needoh hunting (iykyk), s’mores nights, pool days, sleepovers.. all of the things. But motherhood has a funny way of making you question whether you gave enough even when you feel like you gave everything you had.

And this month, I’ve definitely felt pulled in a million different directions.

I’m incredibly grateful for this business. A long editing list means families continue to trust me with some of the most important moments of their lives. A packed calendar means you continue to choose me in a field filled with so many talented photographers. I will never take that for granted.

But I’m also a mom first. And with summer ending tomorrow, that part of me is feeling it a little extra today. 😭

So, I also want to say thank you to everyone who has been patient with me. My editing list is longer than I’d like it to be right now, but I’m working through it every single day. Galleries are going out daily.

This season of life is just… BUSY. A business I love. Three kids I want to soak up every second with. Sports schedules. School schedules. Clients I care deeply about. A house, husband and family that still need me when the computer closes.

And somehow trying to give 100% to all of it at the same time.

Tomorrow they walk back into school, and I’ll probably sit in the quiet house wondering how summer went by so freaking fast. 🥺

So today, after sessions this morning - the laptop is closing a little earlier and we’re going to enjoy a few hours in the pool before sports!

The galleries will still be there tomorrow.
But this last day of summer with my babies won’t. 🫶🏻

If your kiddos are starting school tomorrow, I hope they have the BEST first day! 🏫
