It was a gray morning with off and on light drizzle. I was looking for a small heron that would provide a splash of color and often a period of comic relief. The Green heron is an elusive member of it's family often hiding in plain sight. I headed to a sight that has had 2 nests over the last 4 years and was rewarded with 2 herons. This one was performing it's morning stretching excercises. Pics taken in Exeter, NH. Enjoy!

On the last whale watch with Newburyport Whale Watch, we had a great trip. There were lots of whales and other critters to shoot, but some of my favorite shots from that day were of atmospheric conditions. We ran through multiple fog banks on both the out going and incomming trips. On the incoming trip the sun was lower on the horizon and the fog was between us and the sun making for some interesting shots. Including a fog halo seemingly coming off of the side of the boat and my favorite shot of the day that I call "The guiding light". Enjoy!!!

Join our naturalist team and I on our last trip of the season. We have a great time and enjoy a Lime Rickey while relaxing in one of the many rocking chairs overlooking Gotsport Harbor.
