I'm not saying my struggles are worse than what others are going through. I'm using my own story because it's one I can speak to firsthand, and it's given me some clarity on how we deal with trauma and loss. The point isn't the scale of the loss. It's what happens after.
People show up in week one. Almost nobody's still checking in two months later - and that's exactly when it's needed most.
Check on your people. Not just after it happens. After everyone else has stopped.
