We are sending our deepest condolences to the NJSP and the family of Sergeant First Class Sean Acker #6889.

It is with great sorrow that Acting Superintendent LTC David Sierotowicz announces the untimely passing of Sergeant First Class Sean Acker #6889, Division Staff Section, on February 4, 2026, due to a medical condition that resulted from a work-related injury. Sergeant First Class Acker served with the New Jersey State Police for over 19 years and was a member of the 145th State Police Class.

Sergeant First Class Acker is survived by his wife, Retired Captain Lisa Acker #5953, as well as his two children. The entire New Jersey State Police family and extended law enforcement community extends our deepest sympathy and commitment of support to the Acker family during this difficult time.

On the morning of January 20th, HTVFC crews responded to a MVA. Due to the nature of the injuries, an aeromedical transport was requested. The patient was removed from the vehicle as units coordinated with the flight crew at the landing zone. The patient was successfully packaged and flown to the hospital for further care.
Safe operations like this are only possible through great teamwork.
