One of my favorite parts of working with local universities is having the opportunity to learn from experts in a variety of fields.

This past week I listened to a lecture by Roberto G. Gonzales who is a Harvard Professor and wrote the book, Life in Limbo: Undocumented and Coming of Age in America.

What really stood out to me, was the powerful introduction given by a student who shared his personal story about growing up in Santa Ana. His journey of supporting his then girlfriend, now wife, was so moving he was given a standing ovation.

Thank you UCI for inspiring current and future teachers!

Recharging my batteries and getting inspiration for the second half of the year by spending time with my parents and sister in gorgeous Sedona!

This morning I convinced them to hit the trails at 5:30am and explore Devil's Bridge. The views were amazing and I had a blast hearing old stories about my dad, uncle and grandfather while off-roading in my dad's jeep.

Bonus part of starting the hike early, there were only 2 other people at the arch! @ Devils Bridge Trail

Perfect weather, the California Super Bloom and two handsome grooms who are incredibly kind, what more could a photographer ask for?

Sean and Kyle traveled all the way from Wisconsin to get married at one of the most gorgeous places in Orange County, Crystal Cove.

I love that their immediate family was present for their beautifully, emotional ceremony overlooking the ocean.

I also love that they were willing to walk on wet sand and climb over tide pools in their suits for pictures. @ Crystal Cove, California

I've known Beth since college at when we were both Orientation Assistants and she recruited me to GLBA (now the Queer-Straight Alliance).

One thing that really stood out to me at her and Jess's wedding was the importance of People over Things.

They even told me they didn't want pictures of inanimate objects, just of all their loved ones who were there to celebrate with them.
