“Tiny toes that grip my finger, eyes that see the world brand new, a laugh that rattles the stars. My heart overflows with every giggle, every stumble, every “Mama” and “Papa” whispered on the wind. You, my darling, are a universe in miniature, and I’m forever falling into your orbit.” ✨ - writer unknown

The other night, I was interlocking my fingers between my eldests', and I didn’t realize how his hands almost fill mine.

It made my heart swell with pride but also bittersweetness knowing his use to fit inside my palm. And how his entire palm, could circle around my pinky.

Moments like these are ones I have around my home of my own littles to remind me how fleeting time is.

And here comes the mama tears… 😭

I hope these moments bring you as much nostalgia as it does me 🥹

The soon to be Mr & Mrs King! Seattle, WA🥰

The sweetest of all loves. They have such a deep and meaningful relationship. The resilience they both have to continue the pursuit of truth and light even in the midst of hardship is so powerful.

I can’t wait to see their union tomorrow.

I often ask myself during sessions, what do I want to remember if I was in their shoes decades from now.

While faces, expressions, and intimate moments together are always a given…

Beyond that, it’s the tiny hands wrapped around bigger hands…

It’s the little moments of connection where you can visually SMELL the person you love…

It’s the moment in between the shots…

And sometimes the sweet moments are between others and just need to be savored…

What were some of your favorite memories when your littles were little-er 🥹

“What children probably need to hear most from us adults is that they can talk with us about anything, and that we will do all we can to keep them safe in any scary time.”

Mr Rogers always giving gold.

I’ve been reliving my childhood while watching by his shows with my kids. His wisdom is just so wholesome 🥰

🌟 You're a great mom.

🌟 You're doing a wonderful job of taking care of your little ones. They're lucky to have you.

🌟 You're strong. You've been through a lot in the past few weeks or months, but you've come out stronger.

🌟 You can do anything you set your mind to.

🌟 You're beautiful. Even though you're tired and stressed, you're still beautiful.

🌟 Your children see how beautiful you are inside and out.

🌟 You're loved. You're loved by your family, friends, and your children. You're never alone.

A few words I needed to hear today. Did any of them resonate with you? The last one was so reassuring for me.

Spending extended time with my 2 G’s 🧒🏻 👦🏻 and enjoying these little moments with them even amidst life’s messes and daily chores.

Never ending snacks, meals, dishes, boogers, and booties to wipe.

It never ceases to amaze me that even while life around us happens they grow in their ever so quiet ways and in a blink of an eye it’s yet another year passed.

Happiest Mother’s Day to my fellow mamas ! Hope your days are sweet and as restful as they can get while your babes are little!

Thank you to and for the wonderful kits ! We had so much fun planting the seeds and watching them grow!

Thank you for documenting these for our fam.

We were all excited when we found out Mama A’s third and last baby would be a girl.

She has undoubtedly been doted upon by big brothers 🥰

My 2 cents on AI and photography. Specifically headshots.

I’m not against AI, I actually use it ALL THE TIME. And have been for quite some time.

Especially for headshots.

Why? Because I want to spend as much time with my kids as possible. AND to deliver images to my clients that they can truly be proud of to share with the world they influence.

I must say though, there are fine tune touches within the editing process that AI simply can not do automatically without me giving it detailed instructions and fine tuning (which takes the same amount of time as me doing it).

AI definitely speeds up the entire process. And I LOVE THAT SO MUCH!

Let me give an example:

One of the individuals below requested for a specific hair adjustment, and another asked for facial retouching that reflected their needs. Another requested adjustments to clothing, and so on.

I keep notes on all these requests.

AI helps me retouch to some extent, but the prompting to create the look that best reflects my client’s aesthetics… these specific requests are actually my FAVORITE parts about headshots. These small requests are what makes YOU unique in every way.

The requests are not flaws you see in yourself, but rather, how you see yourself and want your world to see who you truly are!

Its my job to capture your essence, and it’s YOUR job to be YOU!

All in all what once would take hours on end per PERSON. Now can be done within moments. SO GRATEFUL!

That being said. Be you. Always be you. And thank you to everyone who came in front of my camera during this event. I am honestly the most blessed to be doing what I love for people who are truly remarkable in every way.

Hi friends 🥰 I’m back from an unannounced 3 month Sabbath!!!

Sharing my experience and what I learned below 🥲

It’s been a quick but long 3 months and many people had/have no idea I was on sabbath.

I still had clients, however my time between work was incredibly intentional to rest & be with my kids.

In all honesty it was scary to be away and even plan to be away that long but it was over due.

I hadn’t taken time off for me in nearly 12 years and my family other than when I was newly married, and a new mother (and that is no vacation with a newborn and infant).

In the past if our whole family went on vacation I still did not find “rest” cause I thought… well I’m still running after 2 littles… that’s not restful. But this season of work and motherhood has felt so balanced and beautiful.

A few things I’ve learned this sabbath:

1. Letting go of my business for a season doesn’t mean to let it die, but to trust that my mental and physical health along with the health of my family comes first.

2. I have done all I can to prepare for the season if rest and I need to trust that it will still be there after I come back. And so incredibly thankful for clients new and old during my rest season.

3. Social media isn’t the only way for a business to thrive. In the end it will was all about the relationships nourished through the years. A business with no relationship is just a soulless service. And as a motherhood photographer my entire desire is to document relationships.

4. There is rest in work. Work is rest. Work can be rest. And work does not have to end in strife and self sacrifice. That was the hardest lesson to grasp. But never before had I been so busy but also find so much more peace and solitude.

5. My work does not identify me. I am beyond just a mother. And just a photographer. Those things have made me who I am today. But they’re not the only parts of me that matter. My creativity lies deeply within me, and not just when I work. ❤️
