I’ve been dipping my toes into shooting film during my vacation time over the past two years or so, but I never had the chance or motivation to bite the bullet and get my rolls developed.

Feel like I’ve finally broken my streak after sending them off and seeing the results. I think this is the first time I’ve had a roll of 35mm developed since high school!

Here’s a look at a few of my favorites.

All photos shot on Canon AE-1 Program, Canon FD 50mm 1.8, Fuji 400

Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet canoeists with the Ohio River Way as they made the first stop of their expedition at the Port of Ashland.

At dawn, the group launched from Virginia Point Park in Kenova to begin a 23-day, 488-mile journey as part of the 2026 Ohio River Way Challenge.

The expedition highlights the natural beauty of the river and the importance of protecting and preserving the Ohio River for the communities and wildlife that depend on it.

Last week while on assignment for The Herald-Dispatch I had the chance to sit down with Paul Callicoat, who co-owns Route 60 Music Co. with Mike McCord, to talk about the closing of their business after 25 years of serving musicians in the Huntington-Barboursville area.
