Our first News Years winter storm deposited a 3-inch soft blanket of snow in my backyard. Confined to the house for a day watching  falling snow flakes create a magical scene provided many opportunities to photograph birds in their colorful winter plumage.

Funded by a small grant and constructed with the help of volunteers, Land Trust of North Alabama (LTNA) built a bird blind at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve, an eBird hotspot.
