This is a narrow band image of the Sadr region built by combining almost 13 hours of narrow band hydrogen and oxygen images taken using a star tracker, 135 mm lens, and dedicated astro camera.

Sadr, the bright star in the center, is a yellow white super giant star so large that it has a diameter greater than Earth's orbit around the sun and shines with the light of 60,000 suns. It lies 1,800 light years away and the bright emission nebula behind it is 4,900 light years away toward the center of our galaxy.

Wildflower in the morning sun, Bankhead National Forest.

Our public lands are incredible, wildly diverse, and in extreme danger due to the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee budget reconciliation bill introduced by Senator Mike Lee of Utah. The bill would allow the government to sell off millions of acres of public land taking our shared places away and turning them over to the highest bidder. Once a wild and natural place is lost, it is lost for generations, if not forever.

If you want to help preserve these natural places, consider this petition to add your voice opposing this misguided bill.
